In town for work, visiting family, or just looking for a place to get some rounds in? You’re welcome at Tupelo Jiu Jitsu Academy.

We’re a laid-back gym. You don’t need to contact us weeks in advance, wear a special academy uniform, or jump through a bunch of hoops to train.

Your first class as a visitor is free. After that, our drop-in mat fee is $30 per visit.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU COME

Mostly No-Gi

We’re primarily a No-Gi Jiu Jitsu school, so a rash guard and shorts are usually all you need. Check the schedule before coming to make sure you’re dressed for the class you plan to attend.

No Special Uniform Required

You don’t need TJJA gear to train with us. If you’re coming for a Gi class, your regular Jiu Jitsu gi is fine. For No-Gi, wear normal grappling gear. Just make sure everything is clean and appropriate for training.

Leave the Politics at Home

We don’t care what team or affiliation you come from. Visitors from other academies are welcome. Come in, introduce yourself, train hard, be respectful, and have a good time.

All Experience Levels Welcome

Whether you’re a hobbyist, competitor, black belt, or relatively new to Jiu Jitsu, you’re welcome to drop in. Let one of the coaches know your experience level when you arrive.

We like hard rounds, but we also take care of each other. Train with control, respect the tap, and match the intensity of your training partners.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Check our current class schedule, show up about 10–15 minutes early, and introduce yourself to one of the coaches.
